365 days to remember a year

So you know the whole one picture for every day thing? Well some days just deserve more than one picture, and some get none. HA!

                                                      JANUARY 6th!!
3rd world medicine books

This Crane was just chillin on my window sill, I snapped a quick picture.

                                                          January 7th
Completion certificate! I am almost done, only one more written test.
                                                                January 8th
                                              Ethiopian Christmas Celebration.
I cannot wait till it is my turn to go there. :]
"Bunna" a.k.a. coffee

Courtney. She is so cute

See that Lady's white dress? Yeah I want one just like it!

Traditional Ethiopian food, except for the spaghetti. So yummy

                                                                   January 9th
just some mountains
                                                      January 10th

so this needs explaining. A most fantastic thing was discovered by Niki and I. This is a flat lid connected to a dome lid. The cup is full of water and the top is whip cream, yet the two do not meet. We are still trying to find out the significance of this find.

Got some books to read.

                                                                     January 11th
I brought this cake home from class.  It was Pete's lat night so we had cake. He has decided that Boise and Mission Medics wasn't for him. He is heading back to the freezing midwest.

                                                                 January 12th

This is the coffee brewer at work. We decided that it should say "BUNNA"(Coffee in Ethiopia) instead of just "BUNN". What relevance is "BUNN" anyhow?

Now this one is in honor of my mom. Read number 12. The left column is the problem and the right column is the treatment. This is in my "Where There is No Doctor" text book. It was talking about treating without medicine.

.

That is my week in pictures. I really wish I took better pictures for this. I just use my cell phone and snap the pic really quick usually so I guess I shouldn't expect anything else.

Don't you know that I belong arm in arm with you baby?

In the last few months I have received some random yet fantastic compliments. Probably some of the best that I can remember.
     1. One early early morning my boss measured her foot up next to mine and asked me what size shoe I wore. I told her roughly a 10. She then said "How do you have such big feet yet are so tiny?".
I haven't been called tiny in SOOO long!

2. Then at school, doing my final trauma assessment when I was done I felt like I failed it terribly, the examiner said that I didn't do too bad honestly, and that he was looking at it from the view point of whether or not he would want me as an EMT partner. He said that he would because if I didn't know how to do something I would be the kind of person that would straight out ask and he could direct me in how to do and I would do it well.

 3. A few nights ago I was hanging out with a friend of mine , Courtney, and we were talking (obviously) and she said that I seem to her like the kind of person that would drop everything to be there for a friend who needed me.

4. Today a co-worker was talking to me while he was on break in the cafe, and I told him about how I am studying to do medical work in 3rd world countries, and he went on to say that it seemed about right for me to be doing that because I am a very caring person, then he asked me why. Why I was always so caring.   I told him it was because peoples soul are one of the only things that are eternal (that and God's word), and if I'm not doing something that effects those things, then my work is kind of pointless.
I would be lieing though if I said I didn't like it. :]

I'm encouraged just remembering these things being said. haha
Really there was no point for this post, I wanted to post it anyway.

part 2

This is part two of the Butterfly Effect post.
Niki and I collaborated on this part. It took us months to set a date and decide on a worthy medium.  In the end it was a success! It was more of a success then I had even imagined or hoped. We didn't just stop at butterflies for the Holocaust Museum, we went on to make smaller butterflies for a number of co-workers. those buttflies went on to grace headbands and clips. Niki and I are convinced that we could make a good penny off of out butterfly making abilities, NO JOKE!
We are also thinking of making " cafe craft day" a regular thing. :]
Who would have thought that baristas were so creative?

Pictures? Ok you have convinced me.

We made quite a mess out of things, but because we work there and all, we took care to clean up after ourselves.

YAY! Happy
Niki's Butterfly
my butterfly number 1
I'm such an over achiever that I made 2

Here are all of the butterflies together!!!!
I'm so excited to have finally finished the project!
