I cannot seem to track down my perscription for my Malaria prophalxis no matter how I try.
I keep calling the clinic and they keep sending me to different locations in search of my Doxycyclin .
It was a bit scary for me to go zooming down State st on my little scooter while cars buzzed around me. I felt like I was flying down the road only to realize that I was going 45 in a 55.
That is why I avoid that street all together, ALL THE TIME!
The last few days have been marked with some really weird things.
Tuesday I went to the travel clinic, and that went fine.
I then went a few hours later to pick up the lady I was house sitting for at the airport.
I have driven to the airport a number of times, but still managed to get lost probably 4 times on my way there, and it took me an hour to make that drive that should have taken only 20 minutes.
I was terribly embarrassed when I finally got to the airport after having to call her many times telling her that I was lost and heading the complete wrong way.
This is odd for me because I am usually great with directions.
I found the hidden travel clinic with not much trouble at all.
I felt a little out of it for the rest of the afternoon and after a few hours I got a terrible headache. I don't remember that last time I had such a terrible headache.
That was a possible side effect of some of the vaccinations so I should not have been surprised that I experienced some side effects after getting 4 vaccinations in one day.
I then went to the Pharmacy to pick up my prescription and to pick up my anti-malarials and they said that they didn't have it.
Yesterday I go into work to do some computer training.
This computer training is frustrating anyway because it takes forever.
Instead of letting you read through the modules at your own pace and answer the questions, it insists on reading it to you in the slowest way possible and elaborating on pointless things.
After almost 5 straight hours of this, the end was in sight, until I got stuck on this section where they show 4 videos of baristas preparing drinks. I was required to watch all 4 videos. Apparently I watched them in the wrong order or something because it would not let me move on. I ended up watching these baristas slowly make these simple drinks 4 times each.
That was just the start of it, but I will not go on from there.
I finally asked the Manager is I could leave after that module and do the other one later because if not the computer may end up going through a window very soon.
He saw that I had been there 5 1/2 hours at this point and gladly let me leave.
Then throw in the whole still not being able to find my prescription today.
I wonder if this is God's way of telling me that no matter how badly I want to go back to Ecuador like NOW I have to wait.
I guess I should buy my plane ticket soon, but I am hoping that God tells me to go sooner than December.
This has been a pretty annoying last few days, but I know it will be ok. The good news is that I got my vaccinations, I can start my Typhoid fever treatment tomorrow, and there is a prescription out there for me somewhere. Things are coming together slow but sure.
I also drew something last night in a style that I have never sketched before.
I used rough pencil srokes, and left it rough instead of smearing and smoothing it like I usually do.
It is pretty cool I think.
I am happy to think that some new artistic avenues are being discovered. :]
Thank you for listening to my rant. Hopefully this will be my last one in a VERY long time.
Have a wonderful day friends!!
