Travel clinic appointment was a success.
It turns out I am 5'7 after all!
I KNEW I WASN'T 5'6! haha
It took about an hour to go over everything for both Ecuador and Ethiopia.
I ended up getting 4 vaccinations which included a yellow fever vaccine, a menningitis, Tdap and an oral Typhoid vaccination.
Along with a prescription for 6 months of anti-malarial prophylaxis.
Not the cheapest trip ever, but hopefully my insurance will cover some of it.
It always cracks me up when I get done with these sorts of appointments and my arm is covered in band-aids when I leave.
I am also leaving in a few minutes to pick up the lady I am house-sitting for at the airport.
She ended up being detained an extra day.
OH! I also had the chance to skype with Sandra last night.
Sandra was a part of the team I went to Puerto Rico with.
She is the sweetest lady.
We got pretty close in Puerto Rico and it was great to reconnect with her.
I found out last night that her mom is actually from Guayaquil, Ecuador.
I guess I didn't realize she was half Ecuadorian.....No wonder I loved her so much from the start.
hehe!
We had a really good talk about life and what we are going through and thinking through.
Sometimes it feels like there are a shortage of people who truly care about how you are really doing. I know that she does care, and I care about how she is really doing, and how she is feeling.
*did you see the links I added to the side of my blog?? They lead to on-line albums from different trips. some of them are not terribly full yet, but I will work on that once I am home. You do need a password to view them, but I will gladly give them to you if you simply ask. :]*
